Smart Lock Installation in South Florida
Any brand, any door — keypad, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and fingerprint locks installed from $75
Call 1-866-776-6062US Locksmith (Lic #00443LK) installs smart locks of any brand across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach for $75–$150, plus a $29 service call. Bring your own lock, or we supply one for $150–$550 depending on the model. Installation includes setting up the app, the codes and the mechanical backup key.

How Much Does Smart Lock Installation Cost?
$75–$150 to install a smart lock you already bought, plus a $29 service call. The exact price within that range depends on the lock and the door, and we confirm it before we start. If you want us to supply the lock, the lock itself costs $150–$550 depending on the model, plus the same installation price.
The installation price covers a standard door with a standard deadbolt prep. If the door needs new holes, a different backset or work on a hurricane impact door, we tell you the extra cost before we start.
Which Smart Lock Brands Do We Install?
All of them. We install whatever you choose or bring — Schlage Encode, Yale Assure, Kwikset Halo and SmartCode, August, Level, Ultraloq, Eufy, Lockly and others. If you have not chosen yet, we help you pick the right type for your door, your phone and how you plan to use it. Our smart lock types and features guide compares keypad, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, fingerprint and face-recognition locks.
Keypad, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Fingerprint: Which Do You Need?
Keypad
Codes instead of keys. Simple and reliable, with no app required. Good for families and for giving a cleaner or a dog-walker a code you can delete later.
Bluetooth
Unlocks from your phone when you are near the door. No Wi-Fi needed, but no remote control when you are away.
Wi-Fi
Lock, unlock and see who came and went from anywhere. The choice for short-term rentals and owners who travel.
Fingerprint
No code to remember or share. Useful when several family members come and go, including kids.
Do Smart Locks Hold Up in South Florida Heat and Salt Air?
Most do, if you choose and place them well. Direct afternoon sun on a west-facing door and salt air near the beach are hard on keypads and on cheap finishes. For exposed doors we recommend models rated for outdoor use, a satin or black finish instead of polished brass, and fresh batteries before hurricane season. Our residential locksmith page has more on what works in a humid climate.
Can You Install a Smart Lock on a Hurricane Impact Door?
Often, yes, but not every smart lock fits. Many impact doors use a multipoint lock or a narrow frame, while most smart deadbolts are made for a standard deadbolt hole. We check the door first: where a standard smart deadbolt fits, the standard $75–$150 installation applies; where it does not, we recommend a model made for multipoint hardware or a keypad that works with the existing lock. We never cut into an impact door in a way that could affect its rating.
What Happens When the Battery Dies?
You still get in. Every smart lock we install keeps a mechanical backup — a key cylinder — and many models can also be powered from outside the door with a 9-volt battery. Most locks warn you on the app or keypad weeks before the battery runs out. If you are locked out anyway, our house lockout service opens smart locks without damage.
Is a Smart Lock as Secure as a Regular Deadbolt?
A good one is. Look for an ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 or Grade 2 rating on the deadbolt itself — the electronics do not make a weak bolt stronger. The weakest point of most smart locks is the backup key cylinder, which is usually a standard one. If key control matters to you, we can fit a high-security cylinder in many smart locks, or key the backup to your other doors so you carry one key.
Smart Locks for Rentals and Businesses
For short-term rentals, a Wi-Fi smart lock lets you create a code per guest and delete it at checkout — no more rekeying after a lost key. For offices and stores, see our guide to smart locks on commercial doors and our commercial locksmith page for keypad and access control systems.
Typical Situations We Handle
Fort Lauderdale short-term rental
An owner rents a beach-area condo by the week and was rekeying after lost keys. We install a Wi-Fi smart lock the owner bought online ($75–$150 installation), set up a guest code that changes for every booking, and key the backup cylinder to the owner's other locks.
Coral Springs family, kids with no keys
Two kids walk home from school and kept losing keys. We supply a fingerprint smart deadbolt from our range ($150–$550 for the lock, $75–$150 installation) and enroll every family member, with the backup key kept by the parents.
