Authorized Medeco Dealer in South Florida
Maxum deadbolts, retrofit cylinders and registered keys — installed by licensed technicians
Call 1-866-776-6062US Locksmith (Lic #00443LK) is an authorized Medeco dealer serving Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach since 2004. A Medeco Maxum deadbolt runs $250–$450 installed, and a Medeco cylinder fitted into your existing lock runs $150–$300. Common Medeco cylinders ride on our trucks, so most Medeco jobs finish on the first visit.

How Much Does a Medeco Lock Cost Installed in South Florida?
A Medeco upgrade costs $150–$300 when we fit a Medeco cylinder into the lock you already have, and $250–$450 when we install a new Maxum deadbolt. Those prices include the hardware, the labor and two registered keys.
The door drives the final number more than the lock does. A warped slab, an old mortise pocket or a hurricane impact door with a narrow frame adds labor. A cylinder retrofit takes 20–40 minutes; a new Grade 1 deadbolt takes 45–90 minutes. We give you the exact price after we see the door, before any work starts.
What Makes a Medeco Lock Harder to Defeat?
A Medeco cylinder will not turn until every pin is lifted to the right height and rotated to the right angle, which is why standard picking and bump keys do not work on it. Hardened steel inserts protect the cylinder against drilling, and Medeco high-security cylinders are listed to UL 437, the standard for pick, drill and forced-entry resistance.
The Maxum deadbolt adds the physical strength: an ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 body with a one-inch throw bolt, built to resist kicking, prying and wrenching. That matters in South Florida, where most break-ins are forced through the door rather than picked. For the full picture, read why the strike plate and frame matter as much as the lock.
Who Can Make a Copy of a Medeco Key?
Only an authorized Medeco dealer can cut a Medeco key, and only for the person on the signature card. The key blanks are patented, so a hardware store or a key kiosk cannot buy them. When you order a copy from us, we check your photo ID against the signature we registered at installation.
A key stamped "Do Not Duplicate" offers none of that protection. If you want to know which keys truly cannot be copied, see our guide to high-security keys that can't be duplicated.
Which Medeco Products Do We Install?
Maxum Deadbolt
Medeco's Grade 1 deadbolt for front doors, back doors and offices. Available in finishes that hold up in salt air.
Retrofit Cylinders
A Medeco cylinder fitted into your existing Schlage, Kwikset, Yale or Baldwin deadbolt, or into the multipoint hardware on most impact doors. You keep the hardware and gain Medeco key control.
G8R Padlocks
Stainless-steel padlocks for gates, storage units and marine use, keyed to the same registered key as your doors.
Cam Locks
Medeco cam locks for cabinets, mailboxes and cash drawers, so the small locks match the security of the doors.
Is Medeco the Right Choice for Your Condo, Rental or Business?
Medeco is the brand most condo boards, property managers and insurers already recognize, which makes approvals faster. Many Miami condo buildings require board or management approval for door hardware visible from the hallway. We match the existing finish and provide the product sheets your board will ask for.
For landlords, registered keys mean a departing tenant cannot leave with a copy. For businesses, a Medeco master key system lets each employee open only their own areas. Most of our high-security work is in Brickell, Miami Beach, Aventura, Sunny Isles, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale and Boca Raton, and we cover every city in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.
How Fast Can You Get Medeco Parts in Miami-Dade and Broward?
Usually the same day. Common Medeco cylinders ride on our trucks, so most Medeco jobs finish on the first visit, and less common models arrive within a day or two. We install Medeco and Mul-T-Lock hardware every week across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. Every high-security installation carries a 1-year labor warranty, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the hardware.
Typical Situations We Handle
Brickell condo, new owner
A buyer closes on a unit in an older Brickell high-rise. The previous owner, the listing agent and two cleaning services all had keys, and the front desk holds one more. We fit a Medeco cylinder into the existing deadbolt ($150–$300) in about 30 minutes, register the owner's signature, and cut a separate key for the front desk. The finish matches the hallway, so the board has nothing to object to. From that day, no copy can be made without the owner's ID.
Pinecrest home with impact doors
Hurricane impact doors have narrow frames, and a full Maxum deadbolt does not always fit without cutting the door. We measure the backset and stile width first. Where the Maxum fits, it runs $250–$450 installed. Where it does not, a Medeco cylinder goes into the door's existing multipoint hardware, so the impact rating stays intact.
